The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization has approved $90 million in transportation funding for projects in New Braunfels and Boerne under its 2027–2030 Transportation Improvement Program. The program allocates state and federal funds to regionally prioritized projects.

New Braunfels will receive $86.35 million for seven projects scheduled to begin between fiscal years 2026 and 2032. Major investments include interchange improvements at Interstate 35 and Loop 337, roadway and drainage upgrades along West San Antonio Street and Spur Street, and citywide pedestrian improvements.

Boerne will receive $2.6 million for sidewalk expansion projects near downtown and along key corridors. The city will provide a 20 percent local match, with the remaining costs covered through regional transportation funds.

The projects aim to improve safety, mobility, and pedestrian access in two rapidly growing Hill Country communities.
