Heron Power will invest more than $100 million to develop a power equipment manufacturing facility in Morgan Hill, California. The company will convert a 286,000-square-foot former distribution warehouse for the project.
The factory will produce medium-voltage power conversion systems for energy and data center projects. At full capacity, the facility could manufacture up to 10,000 five-megawatt units annually, representing more than 40 GW of equipment capacity. California will support the investment through a $26.4 million California Competes tax credit. The City of Morgan Hill and PG&E also participated in the site selection process.
Heron Power will begin preparing the site for manufacturing in 2026 and plans to start mass production in late 2027. The facility is expected to create more than 600 manufacturing, engineering, and operations jobs.
