Granite has been selected as the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) for the rehabilitation of Runway 1R-19L and construction of Taxiway W at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The project is part of SFO’s multi-billion-dollar Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which focuses on modernizing key airfield and terminal infrastructure.

The $115 million project will involve the removal of Taxiway F1 and construction of a new Taxiway W between Taxiways A and L. Additional scope includes upgrades to asphalt pavement, drainage systems, lighting, signage, grooving, striping, and installation of Runway Status Lights (RWLS).

The timeline includes a preconstruction phase from June 2025 through January 2026, followed by major construction from March 2026 to November 2026. Granite will supply approximately 185,000 tons of P401 and P403 hot mix asphalt from its Santa Clara facility.
