CSX Corporation has completed a large-scale data platform modernization in partnership with Infosys and Microsoft, replacing legacy systems with a unified cloud-based data environment.
The project consolidated CSX’s fragmented data systems into a single platform built on Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Purview, supported by Infosys Topaz services. The new platform provides real-time analytics, centralized governance, and standardized data access across the enterprise.
Infosys led the end-to-end implementation, covering platform design, system integration, and governance. The company reported annual infrastructure cost savings and improved data reliability as a result of the modernization. CSX plans to use the system to improve asset utilization, maintenance planning, and network performance across its rail operations.
