The Corpus Christi City Council has approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Corpus Christi Desal Partners to advance planning for the Inner Harbor Desalination Project. The agreement authorizes the consortium to develop design and construction options for a proposed water treatment campus intended to expand the region’s supply.
Corpus Christi Desal Partners—made up of Acciona, MasTec, Ardurra, and Reytec—will prepare several delivery alternatives with defined pricing. The group will draw on existing design material prepared by Kiewit to outline project scope and cost ranges. This process will allow the city to evaluate potential configurations while limiting financial exposure during early planning.
The consortium expects to submit its proposals to the City Council between January and February 2026. A design–build contract could be considered between March and April 2026. The project remains in pre-design, and no construction schedule has been set.
The Inner Harbor Desalination Project is part of the city’s broader effort to strengthen long-term water supply reliability for the Coastal Bend region.
