Bowman Consulting Group has been selected to provide planning and design services for the redevelopment of the West End Container Yard at Barbours Cut Terminal in the Port of Houston.

The 140-acre project forms part of a $650 million capital improvement program to reconfigure Barbours Cut Container Terminal for expanded container operations. Planned upgrades include integration of rubber tire gantry cranes, capacity enhancements, and traffic flow evaluations.

Bowman’s scope of work covers terminal planning, capacity upgrade schemes, and design support for improved operational efficiency. This marks the firm’s first container terminal planning and design award and expands its role in the ports and harbors sector.
