Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) has designated four locations as Certified Sites on its network, expanding the Class I’s catalogue of rail-served sites ready for immediate development.
The sites are located in Everett, Spokane, and Plymouth, Washington, and Springfield, Missouri. Each location met environmental and geotechnical standards, offered utility availability, had suitable site conditions, and included existing or proposed structures.
Smith Island Terminal in Everett spans 54 acres of heavy industrial-zoned land with a rail loop connecting to a main BNSF line. Situated north of Seattle, the site lies less than 8 miles from the Port of Everett and 2 miles from Interstate 5.
The Spokane International Airport Rail-Truck Transload Center covers 305 acres zoned for light industrial use, with room for expansion. The site features an existing transload facility and provides access to I-90 and U.S. Route 92.
The Plymouth Industrial Site covers more than 1,300 acres zoned for heavy industrial use. It includes an existing loop track with access to the BNSF mainline and offers proximity to State Route 14, I-82, and I-84, along with access to five major ports within a four-hour drive.
Moon Light in Springfield, Missouri, is a 186-acre site transitioning from agricultural zoning to industrial and logistics use. Located less than 1 mile from Springfield-Branson National Airport, the site sits next to BNSF’s mainline and provides access to I-44. It also connects to the Kansas City Intermodal facility and the Port of Catoosa in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
