Arizona has introduced a statewide Permit Finder, a digital mapping tool that centralizes broadband permitting information for public agencies and infrastructure developers. The platform compiles state and local permit requirements, responsible offices, and contact details, giving broadband providers a single reference point for project planning.
The tool is designed to simplify coordination across jurisdictions and reduce delays that often slow fiber and middle-mile construction. By outlining relevant permits in advance, the system supports faster deployment in communities with limited or no high-speed service.
The State Broadband Office continues to implement its Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) plan. Fourteen provisionally selected subgrantees will expand service to 184,066 eligible locations, supported by more than $521 million in matching commitments. Arizona also operates ConnectAllAZ, a program that includes a $100 million broadband infrastructure grant fund and a statewide middle-mile initiative along Interstates 17, 19, and 40.
