Aqua Pennsylvania has completed the $18 million acquisition of the Greenville Municipal Water Authority in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. The transaction transfers ownership of the local drinking water system serving more than 2,900 customers in Greenville Borough and the neighboring Hempfield and West Salem townships.

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approved the transaction on January 15, 2026. The acquisition expands Aqua Pennsylvania’s water and wastewater operations in the region following its 2025 purchase of the Greenville Sanitary Authority’s wastewater system.

The Greenville water system includes approximately 40 miles of water mains that supply drinking water to residential and commercial customers. Aqua Pennsylvania plans to invest about $10 million in system upgrades over the next decade.

The planned improvements will focus on infrastructure rehabilitation, operational upgrades, and compliance with regulatory, environmental, and cybersecurity requirements. The investments aim to improve system reliability and maintain drinking water quality for customers in the service area.
