The Messer Sundt Joint Venture has begun work on a consolidated rental car (CONRAC) program at Nashville International Airport. The project forms part of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority’s $3 billion New Horizon expansion plan.

The $900 million program includes a new consolidated rental car facility, a parking garage, and roadway improvements. The team will deliver the project using a progressive design-build model in multiple phases. Construction is underway, with completion expected in 2029.

The scope includes a six-level structure with a 3,000-space parking garage and a 4,700-vehicle rental car facility. It also includes a Customer Service Building to support operations. The project expands the airport’s roadway system, including improvements to the Terminal Drive loop road. These upgrades will increase traffic capacity and improve connections to the surrounding road network. The facility will also support on-airport shuttle operations.

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority oversees the program, while Messer Construction Co. and Sundt Construction deliver the project through a joint venture. The New Horizon program supports long-term capacity growth and operational efficiency at the airport.
